Pau Navarro and Jan Rosa exhibit their prestigious Touareg to the admiration of neighbors and fans on a day that has also had the valuable presence of the pilots Josep Pedró and Joan Font

Santa Susanna received this Tuesday the riders Pau Navarro and Jan Rosa, brand new winners of the Dakar 2026, in the Challenger category. The two drivers have brought the trophy that accredits them as winners of the race, the Touareg, so that everyone could see it. They have arrived in the town with their winning vehicles, a fact that has aroused the expectation and admiration of neighbors and fans. Navarro and Rosa have been accompanied by the drivers of the Dakar Rally 2026 Josep Pedró and Joan Font.  

The event was officially received by the mayor Joan Campolier and the councilor for Tourism, Sustainability, Innovation and Communication, Sílvia Vives. The mayor congratulated the Dakar drivers for the successes achieved and highlighted the values of effort, self-improvement and commitment that they represent and that the municipality shares.

During the meeting, residents and fans were able to ask the drivers questions about their experience in the desert, see the vehicles that competed in the Dakar up close and congratulate them personally.

Santa Susanna, which last November hosted the technical and administrative verifications of 1,400 vehicles participating in the Dakar, held in Saudi Arabia this January, thus reaffirms its link with this top-level event. Three of the four riders who have come to Santa Susanna, Pau Navarro, Josep Pedró and Joan Font, were here on November 28. They are the drivers who took a guided tour of the checks of the cars, trucks and motorcycles of the Dakar to the students of the Professional Institute of Equestrian Tourism of the Maresme (IPTEM), the Santa Susanna School (5th and 6th of Primary) and the Montagut School Institute (3rd and 4th of ESO).

The municipality reinforces its position as a tourist destination specialising in sporting events of global projection. During the event, the mayor confirmed that this year Santa Susanna will once again be the venue for the technical and administrative verifications of the Dakar 2027.
